Ocean Volleyball Academy Registration

Ocean Volleyball Academy Registration is now available! 

GrassRoots/Lessons

For players not making a team or not able to make the commitment to travel we will be offering our grass roots program which will begin in the beginning of December and last 10 weeks. The program will be one hour a day and one day a week and will be taught by our Club Coaches. Cost will be $155 and will cover the cost of the program and an OCVBC shirt. If your player is only doing this program than they will only need the developmental membership and affiliate with Ocean County Volleyball on USA Volleyball.  Click here to register for USA Volleyball.

 

Practices starts TOMORROW!!

Welcome to the 2018-19 season at Ocean County Volleyball Club. Tryouts are behind us and we're looking forward to another great season! 
 
Please read carefully as this is slightly different than what was posted. Our mandatory parent meeting schedule is as follows:
 
Saint Barbara:
Teams practicing at Saint Barbara will have their meeting during the first hour of their scheduled practice. Teams with their first practice on Wednesday from 5-7 will have their parent meeting at 5pm. Teams with their first practice on Wednesday from 7-9 will have their parent meeting at 7.Teams with their first practice on Thursday from 5-7 will have their parent meeting at 5pm. Teams with their first practice on Thursday from 7-9 will have their parent meeting at 7.
 
LA Fitness:
Teams practicing at LA Fitness will have their meeting during the first hour of their weekend practice. If your weekend practice day is Saturday then your parent meeting is at 10am Saturday. If your weekend practice is on Sunday then your parent meeting is Sunday at 10am. Location will be on the court. 
 
Please have the following with you as you walk in the door:
 
1. Signed copy of the 2018-19 Player Parent Contract. (found on website under forms tab)
2. Signed copy (signature page) of the 2018-19 Geva Recruitment and Commitment Policy.  (found on website under forms tab)
3. Upgraded membership through USA Volleyball Webpoint.
     When you upgrade or renew your membership through USA Volleyball Webpoint you must affiliate with Ocean County Volleyball Club by selecting the club from the drop-down list of available teams.
4. 50% down payment of applicable club fees., unless you have spoken to Dan.
 
At the meeting we will be going over the contract as well as tournament information and answering any question you may have. Coaches will also be going over their season goals and taking questions. 
 
***Please Upgrade and Affiliate with the club ASAP!!  We need to build rosters so we can register for tournaments.***

2018-19 Club Season

The 2018-19 season is right around the corner and below are the details for another great season of girls volleyball at Ocean County Volleyball Club.

We are offering an Open Gym on Saturday November 3rd to come play and meet a few of the coaches and Directors and see the facility. We will also be available to answer any questions about registration and the upcoming season.

The 2018-19 season details are as follows:

Your age on August 31st, 2019 is the age group you try out in.

Our tryout schedule:

Open Gym: Saturday November 3rd, 10am-12pm. No fee.

 

November 3rd, 12-2pm, Make up for tryouts. (If using this option please notify the club)

November 5th for girls 12 and under. 7-9pm.                   

November 6th for girls 13 and 14. 7-9pm.

November 7th for girls 15 and 16. 7-9pm.

November 8th for girls 17 and 18. 7-9pm

November 10th National Team Tryouts. 12-2pm

Your age on August 31st, 2019 is the age group you try out in.

For all players trying out for a National Team you must also attend your age group earlier in the week. One tryout fee covers both sessions. When choosing tryouts please keep in mind if a player makes a National Team their complete schedule for tournaments may not be known until mid-January.

 

If you can’t make the date for your age group please contact the club for alternate options.

Tryout Fee 50.00.

Pre-Registration for tryouts is required and will be online through the registration tab on the OCVBC website. This fee is $50. Ocvbc Registration will open on October 15th. You will ALSO need to register for the $15 tryout registration with USA Volleyball (https://www.geva.org/page/show/2876364-geva-membership-registration-and-help) before beginning Ocvbc Tryout process. Registration links are at the bottom of the page. Please read the full page before registering. Full USA Volleyball membership required after joining OCVBC. Please bring a copy of the Player Information Form from the website. Please remember there are two registrations for tryouts. Ocvbc AND USA.

For players making a team, the first day of practice will be either Wednesday November 14th or Thursday November 15th

Season Fees include:

Over 100 hours of instruction by USA/AAU Certified coaches

Minimum of 5 single day and 3/4 multiday tournaments for National Teams

Minimum of 5 single day and 2 multiday tournaments for Regional Teams

Uniform and practice/sponsor shirt

Two night clinic with Olympic Gold Medalist Pat Powers

R2 and scorekeeping clinic by certified referees (if available)

 

The fees for the 2018-19 Ocean County Volleyball Girls Club Season are as follows:

 

National Teams

Possible age groups: 14-18

At Seacourt Pavilion Location: $1750.00

At Saint Barbara Gym: $1525.00

Regional Teams

Possible age groups: 13-18

At Seacourt Pavilion Location:  $1470.00

At Saint Barbara Location: $ 1250.00

Additional $14 AAU Membership may be required.

 

National Teams will play in 5 regional single day tournaments and at least 3 of the following multiday Tournaments:

MLK Tournament in Lancaster PA

Capitol Hill Classic in Washington DC

Mizuno Boston Volleyball Festival

AAU Grand Prix, PA

Irish Rumble in Lancaster PA

NEQ in Philadelphia

BeachFest in Ocean City MD

 

Regional Teams will play in 5 Regional tournaments and at least 2 of the following multiday tournaments:

MLK Tournament in Lancaster PA

Irish Rumble in Lancaster PA

BeachFest in Ocean City MD

 

All teams will have an option to attend more tournaments if agreed upon by the team.

Additional tournaments may be added to the pool.

Fees do not include transportation or lodging for tournaments.

Fees can be paid by check or cash. Credit card payments can be made with a 3% extra charge to cover credit card fee.

Players will be placed on a team after tryouts. First day of practice will be either Wednesday November 14th or Thursday November 15th. Please read the Team Selection Info Guide under forms on our site. The player has three days to respond to the offer (usually posted on our website or notified by phone). Once the player accepts the spot she will show up to her next scheduled practice with a USAVolleyball full Membership Card, a signed commitment and fees for the season.

Ocvbc Summer Clinic Series

Ocean County Volleyball Club will be running their annual Summer Clinics at Saint Barbara Greek Church in Toms River. These clinics will be taught by our Ocvbc club coaches made up of current and former college coaches and players. All of our coaches are background checked, USA Volleyball certified coaches. We will be using the same techniques used during our club season to make a fun and interesting learning environment. Younger girls will be taught the fundamentals and how to apply them in game like situations. Depending on ability the older girls will be working on these fundamentals as well as more competitive game like situations. 

We are offering 4 distinct clinics/camps covering all ages and abilities. If you have any questions about which clinic to attend please contact OCVBC. Registration will open on June 15th and will be available under the registration tab.

IMPORTANT: If you are not a current member of USA Volleyball you will need to go to https://www.geva.org/registration, scroll to the bottom and chose "new member in USAV Webpoint" and follow the prompts and chose summer membership for $15. This is in addition to our fee. You will need a copy of your card to enter a clinic and your number to register on our site.  

Ocvbc Summer Clinic Schedule:

Players 10 and under:

July 2, 16, 23 and 30. 3:30-5pm. Cost $65.

This clinic is for younger players who may or may not have played in our grass roots program and are looking to learn or solidify their knowledge and skill of the fundamentals of volleyball. This clinic is open to all girls 10 and under.

Players ages 11-14:

July 3, 17, 24 and 31. 3:30-5pm. Cost $65. 
 

This clinic is for players looking to prepare for middle school in the Fall. We will touch on all the fundamentals of volleyball. We will also break up into groups sorted by ability to more closely work with players of all ability. This clinic is open to girls ages 11-14.

Players ages 15 and up:

June 27, July 4, 18 and 25th. 3:30-5pm. Cost $65.

This clinic is for players looking to improve their skills before trying out for their high school volleyball team in the Fall. We will go over passing, serving, blocking, defense and offensive systems. This clinic is open to girls 15 and up.   

High School Boot Camp. August 1, 2, and 3. 5-8pm. Ocvbc members $100. Non members $110. Contact club for member code for registration. 

This clinic is for girls playing in High School this Fall. Girls attending this camp need to have played volleyball in the past and have an understanding and be able to demonstrate the fundamentals of volleyball. Coaches will be working on  drills designed after game like situations where skills and fundamentals are used in a competitive situation. If you are not sure if this clinic is for you please contact the club. If you have not played before and attend the 15 and up clinic in July there is a chance you can attend this camp after confirming with Dan Williams. Space is limited for this clinic.
